Back on Stage in Grahamstown

created on Jun-23-2012

Nothing FunnyThose of you who follow Joe’s twitter stream will already know that he is returning to stage for the first time in 12 years to co-star in a two-hander with long-time friend and collaborator, Damon Berry.
Nothing Funny is written by Damon and directed by Rob van Vuuren and will have 6 performances in Grahamstown from the 4th to the 8th of July.

Nothing Funny is about two dim-witted actors who find themselves on stage with no script, [and] foolishly attempt to entertain the audience. They soon find that they may not be starring in a comedy at all. In fact, if the synopsis that poor Greg Lunz and Rob O’ discover is correct, they may be starring in a tragic masterpiece. Which wouldn’t be so bad really, except for the fact that they might both be dead by the end of the show. Which just plain sucks.

Directed by the talented Rob van Vuuren and written by Damon Berry, this ingenious work is both funny and off the wall. An imaginative and entertaining play about death, meaning and underpants.
