Well we had the Cape Town Cast & Crew screening of 10KBC last night at Canal Walk.
It turned out to be a huge affair with two screens taken over for the night. Free wine, canapés, beer and popcorn – no red carpet, but who gives a crap.
It was my first one of these ever and it was brilliant. The vibe in the cinema was electric, with whoops and cheers erupting whenever someone recognised themselves, or a crew member, or even a prop or costume.
As for the movie… it is spectacular. Typical Emmerich fare; huge setpieces, unbelievable images and extraordinary shots.
It has grossed $135,977,423 world wide so far.
10, 000BC is released in South Africa on Friday 21st March so don’t miss it.
